Author Information

Dr. Amy McGregor attended Haverford College in Philadelphia, then Washington University Medical School in St. Louis. She did her pediatric residency, pediatric neurology residency, and clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston. She then joined the faculty at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, where she's currently a pediatric epileptologist practicing at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. Dr. McGregor is board certified in Pediatrics, Neurology with Special Qualification in Child Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, and Epilepsy. Dr. Norimitsu Kuwabara is a pediatrician and pediatric neurologist certified in Japan and the United States. Originally from Hokkaido, Japan, he graduated from Asahikawa Medical University in 2001 and has been a physician for 24 years. After gaining diverse experience in various medical fields across Japan, from Hokkaido to Okinawa, he moved to the US in 2012. Dr. Kuwabara trained at the University of Hawaii and the University of Tennessee before taking his current position at the Michigan Children's Hospital in 2019. Dr. Rena D. Sukhdeo Singh is a double board-certified neurologist and medical director of the Primary Stroke Center at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Easton. She completed a fellowship in vascular neurology at the National Institutes of Health, where she served as an associate investigator for the Natural History Study and White Matter Study at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, Stroke Branch. Dr. Sukhdeo Singh was the chief neurology resident at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. She earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in New York City and completed a double major in biology and psychology during her undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto. Dr. Chilvana Patel is an associate professor of neurology at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. She specializes in clinical neurophysiology, focusing on epilepsy and neuromuscular disorders. Since 2017, she has directed the Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship, and since 2022, she has led the Neurology Residency Program. Trained in India and at Hofstra-NSLIJ School of Medicine, Dr. Patel is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. She is recognized for her excellence in clinical care, education, and mentoring, receiving awards for her contributions to neurological education and serving in various leadership roles within professional neurology organizations.
