Author Information

Hi, I'm Jessy. I publish books in languages I don't speak so children can read books in languages they do speak. Legends have always fascinated me. Do they give your children a sense of wonder too? As an Australian poet, it's hard to find work in the Outback. But there are children all over the world struggling to learn how to read. Some of them have hardly any books in their native language. That's why I created the Bilingual Legends series - to give as many children as possible the opportunity to read a story in their own native language. Usually, each book in the series is published in the language spoken in the land where that story originates. A typical book also includes the text in English, but in some cases Spanish, Portuguese, German, or another language is used instead. I hope you enjoy reading my books! Hello! I'm Sastra Noor, an illustrator with a passion for vibrant and captivating visuals. Art has been my lifelong companion, and I am thrilled to share my creative journey with you. My goal is to evoke emotions, spark curiosity, and transport viewers to new and exciting narratives through my artwork. I am fueled by the belief that art has the power to inspire, connect, and transform. Selen Balcı is a Laz translator.Living in an environment in which two languages are spoken and two cultures are owned was not different for me fifteen years ago. However, my interest in the structure of languages pushed me to learn more about them. First, I observed that one of my languages could not be spoken in any formal environment. My curiosity reached the peak. Then, I realized that not everybody knows about my language, not everybody cares about it and it is dying. The desire of finding a solution or an answer increased my excitement. I decided that I will dedicate my life to Laz language survival and other endangered languages because I am one of the people who witness the struggle of their language. In the light of my aim, I took part in many projects. As a member of The Laz Institute, I have been offering Laz language course for beginners for 7 years. I translated short version of Pollyanna into Laz, contributed to Laz course books as a writer. I organized teacher trainings and prepared trainers for teaching the online language courses. I supported them with the necessary educational technological skills and with the language teaching and adult teaching techniques. I'm also a volunteer in Network of Laz and Circassian Civil Societies Project (Funded by EU) and responsible for teacher networks, planning, determination of curriculum, the conduct of the trainers trainings, planning material development trainings, designing the website for digital learning materials, digitalization of existing educational materials, writing a grammar book, preparation of language dictionary.
