At the University of the West, California State University-Northridge, he taught Theravada Buddhism and Hinduism as a visiting professor. Shimkhada s most recent edited book is The Constant and Changing Faces of the Goddess: Goddess Traditions of Asia. Niels Gutschow was educated as an architect, planner and architectural historian at Darmstadt University, from where he received his PhD.
