Overview

A novel or novelette is a prose story in which a picture of human life is presented. That is, the novel is a mirror in which different forms of life can be seen. Shafiq ur Rahman is famous in the Urdu literary world for his romantic fiction and humorous essays, but he is primarily known as a humorist. Elements of elegance prevail in his fictions rather than satire, and in his writings, he seems convinced of laughter rather than smiles.
