OverviewHigh Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! Ned Thomas Beatty (born July 6, 1937) is an American actor. He currently resides (as of 2010) near Springville, California. Beatty was born in Louisville, Kentucky, the son of Margaret Fortney (ne Lennis) and Charles William Beatty. He has a sister, Mary Margaret, and a brother. In 1947, Beatty began singing in gospel and barbershop quartets, in St. Matthews, Kentucky, as well as at his local church. He made his stage debut at age 19, appearing in Wilderness Road, an outdoor-historical pageant located in Berea, Kentucky. He attended college at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky, although he didn't graduate. Beatty worked in the Louisville area through the mid-1960s, at the Clarksville Little Theater (IN) and the recently founded Actors Theater of Louisville.
