Author Information

Rita Carter is a science and medical writer, lecturer and broadcaster who specialises in the human brain: what it does, how it does it, and why. She has twice been awarded the Medical Journalists’ Association prize for outstanding contribution to medical journalism, and has been shortlisted for the Royal Society Prize for Science Books. Rita studied psychology at Oxford University, and holds an honorary doctorate from Leuven University for services to the public understanding of the brain.
