He has a PhD in East Asian languages and literatures (Japanese linguistics) from the University of Hawai‘i. Stephen J. Moody is an Associate Professor of Asian and Near Eastern Languages at Brigham Young University, Utah. He has a PhD in East Asian languages and literatures from the University of Hawai‘i.
