A trail-blazing exploration of how to seek inspiration from Nature to transform - through applying some of Permaculture's key principles - the leadership, management, and functioning of our 21st century organisations, in order to make them more efficient, perform better, and develop their regenerative impact on people and planet. Reviews

""Very interesting and actionable. This book is a must read for anyone looking at building or transforming his/her organization to a resilient and productive ecosystem. In a highly uncertain and fast changing environment, leveraging nature's 3,8Bn years of R&D as well as recent discoveries on its complex interactions is the best investment any leader can make."" Côme Perpère, Sustainable Development Director, Microsoft France. ""Reading Nature Inspired Organizations was for me like the experience of walking along a forest path in the early Spring time, when the smell of the thawing soil underfoot is rich and fertile, and the green buds and early flowering trees are perfuming the air with the most subtle scents. I can't help but have the sense that such a walk has been good for me, in body and spirit, as I connect with the earth and the earth connects with me. Why do I make this comparison? For those of us working in or working to change organizations, shift the ways and the spirit in we lead, the greatest inspiration doesn't come from the conventions of the leadership and management sciences or the literature of organizational behavior and development. It comes from the diverse disciplines of the arts and sciences, and the often-overlooked world of the living beings, of which we are a part. Matthieu Daum invites us to experience that world and to discover new ways of being, knowing, doing, and relating, inspired by the dynamic and naturally sustainable world of permaculture. It made me think twice and more about the ways in which I serve my team, the way that we allocate and renew our energy and resources, plan for the future, and interact with all of our stakeholders. Allow yourself to be instructed by trees, fields, and ecosystems, and to rediscover an indigenous way of knowing that can revitalize and regenerate the way we're living in our organizations today."" David McCallum, Executive Director, Discerning Leadership Programme ""Matthieu presents a vision that is both urgent and self-evident, redefining management by viewing the company as a living ecosystem that must adapt and regenerate to survive in a rapidly changing world. It is no longer just about leading but about orchestrating a dynamic balance where every resource and interaction finds its rightful place. Through this organic and deeply human approach, he demonstrates that resilience, collective intelligence, and harmony with nature are not just ideals but the only viable paths to a thriving business and a sustainable future."" Luca Schio, Head of Division, Council of Europe Development Bank ""Your book is an incredible undertaking! In the world of sustainable investing where I have dedicated my career for 25 years, we seek to allocate capital in ways that regenerate rather than deplete. Matthieu Daum's Nature-Inspired Organisations offers a parallel for leadership and management-one rooted in the wisdom of natural systems and the principles of permaculture. Just as healthy financial ecosystems require resilience, diversity, and long-term thinking, so too do thriving organisations. Daum's insights provide a compelling framework for reimagining how we build companies, teams, and economies that are not only sustainable but regenerative. A must-read for leaders committed to designing organisations fit for the future."" Matt Christensen, Global Head of Sustainable and Impact Investing, Allianz Global Investors
