He has previously worked as a Leverhulme Special Research Fellow and as a Research Associate in the Center for Austrian Studies at the University of Minnesota. His previous books include Ethnicity and Everyday Life (2007), The Use and Abuse of Memory (2013), and The Commonalities of Global Crises (2016). Monika Kopytowska received her Ph.D. from the University of Lodz, Poland, where she is currently affiliated with the Department of Pragmatics. Her research interests revolve around identity, media discourse and the representation of conflict, ethnicity, and religion. She is a founding member of the European Network for Intercultural Education Activities, and has been a visiting scholar at Lancaster University, the University of Ohio, and the University of Nairobi.
