Le nanoparticelle d'argento anisotrope sono state sintetizzate con un metodo semplice, efficiente ed ecologico in presenza di estratto di Taxus baccata come agente riducente e stabilizzante. Le nanoparticelle colloidali monodisperse sono state caratterizzate con diversi metodi, tra cui spettroscopia UV-Vis, SEM, TEM, AFM, EDS, FTIR, TGA, DLS e Zetasizer. Dopo aver analizzato l'attività antitumorale delle nanoparticelle sulle linee cellulari tumorali MCF-7, Caov-4 e HeLa mediante il saggio MTT, il meccanismo è stato ulteriormente studiato mediante citometria a flusso e PCR in tempo reale.
