Overview

These are the continuing adventures in dreams of Naja Tau (volume 2). The chapters of this book consist of journaled dreams and musings about possible interpretations of those dreams, creating a window into the life of a college student struggling with undiagnosed psychosis. Dream topics include death via orange juice injection, being chased off a cliff by aliens, climbing invisible stairs, and swimming through mall air vents as an air mermaid. In 2013, Naja decided that in order to be able to live wherever she wanted, and not have to go back to her hometown, she needed to finish her college education. After consulting the Bureau of Labor Statistics, she saw what jobs she was willing to do and what those jobs paid, and she decided to go back to school and either use a theatre degree to leap into a business master's or to become a physicist. Unfortunately, right as school started, she developed a psychosis that eventually earned her a diagnosis of both bipolar schizoaffective disorder and paranoid schizophrenia, ending her pursuit of a degree in California. In this diary, you read about living a new life every night and waking up to a reality that's just as surprising and surreal. But the insanity is never overt. It never makes itself known. It's simply hiding in the background, quietly fueling these dreams and observations. Do you think you would recognize the symptoms of psychosis creeping up on you?
