Myeloma

Overview

Myeloma is a malignant disease of the bone marrow, that provides an important role model for many other types of cancer. Although the subject of considerable research, the origins of the disease remain unclear. There has however been an explosion of interest in this disease in the past decade. The 1st edition of Myeloma: Biology and management provided the first authoritative, comprehensive textbook, covering the epidemiology, immunology, and haematology of this important cancer. Since publication in 1995, several important advances have taken place in myeloma research, necessitating a review of the previous text. While bringing fully up to date the topics covered in the 1st edition, the 2nd edition includes several new chapters; the patient and family perspective of the disease, infections in myeloma, cytogenetics, neurological complications, along with a history of myeloma. The book has been written and produced by the leading world-wide authorities in myeloma research. This book is intended for oncologists, heamatologists.
