Overview

The Tubbs Fire of 2017 destroyed our doctor's house, but not ours. Husband and I rented our home to him and his family while we traveled for thirteen months. We headed out with a list of places we wanted to see with the idea that we would become ""those Americans"" living in some far-off place. This is the story of how we did it, the mistakes we made, the joys we experienced, the lessons we learned. It was one of the best years of our lives, rooted in a disaster and ended by another: the Camp Fire of 2018. Please join us on the road.
