Melanie I. Ray is a mother, author, and founder of Victoria's Place, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to help serve children with Down syndrome. Melanie has worked as a mental health counselor and as a behavior therapist for children with autism. She also worked as a program director, developing programs for people with disabilities. Melanie has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Benedict College and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. Melanie is a PhD student at Walden University in the field of Human services and she has her second Master's in Philosophy in Human Services at Walden University. She is a member of the National Honors Society of Leadership and Success and the Golden Key Club Honors Society. She is an avid supporter of the Buddy Walk, which supports her daughter and other children with Down syndrome.
