My Story: BETWEEN TWO WORLDS (IN A COUNTRY FAR FROM INDIA - AND THE NETHERLANDS): A Journey of Loss, Fatherhood, and Survival

Overview

My Story: Between Two Worlds - India and the Netherlands A Journey of Loss, Fatherhood, and Survival This is the true story of a man who crossed continents in search of a better life, only to find himself fighting battles he never imagined - loss, loneliness, fatherhood, and survival in a foreign land. Arriving in the Netherlands in 2016 with his wife and toddler, life looked promising. But when his wife was diagnosed with a severe illness during the pandemic, everything changed. A company that demanded he return to India despite her critical condition pushed him into a heartbreaking decision - resignation over inhumanity. In 2022, during what was supposed to be a final, hopeful visit to India, tragedy struck. His wife passed away, leaving him alone with an eight-year-old son, a collapsing visa status, and no financial stability. What followed was a journey of resilience: delivering groceries by bicycle, selling personal belongings, taking loans at high interest, and rebuilding life from just 300. But the greatest wound came from silence - a community that offered no support, a world that watched but did not help. Through grief and isolation, he raised his son under the watch of authorities, fought for residency, built a business, represented Indian culture at global events, and continued serving others through the Indian Center in the Netherlands - even when he himself had little. With only his son, his dog, and his 80-year-old parents as emotional anchors, he rebuilt life piece by piece. This is not a story of privilege. Not a story of luck. It is a story of standing back up when everything falls apart. A widower. A father. An immigrant. A businessman. A cultural representative. A man who refused to break - because a little boy needed him not to. This book is a testament to what the human spirit can endure, and what a parent can achieve when love is the only strength left. This story does not end with closure - but with the quiet strength to begin again, and the courage to step forward into whatever comes next..... This book is not merely a recounting of hardship - it is a tribute to fatherhood, a declaration of perseverance, and a quiet reminder that even when life strips us down to our most fragile self, love gives us the strength to begin again.
