Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationJon Vickers-Jones Scenic designer- Technical Director - Drama teacher - Story Teller Jon Vickers-Jones is a versatile creator of scenic design, and a theater technician. He has acted in community theater and summer stock, written and produced children's shows, held workshops and classes in schools and at camps, and told stories to clubs, organizations, and festivals in the Mid-Atlantic States, and in the United Kingdom. He now works and performs in Centre County, Pennsylvania. Recently Jon has created scenic designs for the State College Community Theatre, Bald Eagle school district, the Next Stage theater company, and other schools and groups in Centre County. He has taught scenic design and/or acting and costume making to students at the State College Community Theatre and at Bald Eagle and Mercersburg area school districts. He was the director of the Caledonia Theater Company's summer camps at the Totem Pole playhouse in Chambersburg, at Arts Express for the Chambersburg Area Council for the Arts, at the Cumberland Valley School of Music in Chambersburg, at Adventures in Learning at Penn State Mont Alto, and at the St. Neots' Folk Festival children's camp in Cambridgeshire, England. Jon has written and produced numerous children's plays. He has assisted children in their acting techniques, the creation of costumes, the development of stage design, the art of collecting and organizing props, and the techniques of being a stage manager. In addition to performing in summer stock and community theater, he is a playwright and storyteller. He has performed with the Chambersburg Community Orchestra, with a Russian ballet company in Warren, Pa., and in an off Broadway original production by Marcus Steinhour.
