As an Australian poet, it's hard to find work in the Outback. But there are children all over the world struggling to learn how to read. Some of them have hardly any books in their native language. That's why I created the Bilingual Legends series - to give as many children as possible the opportunity to read a story in their own native language. Usually, the language each book in the series is published in will be one that's spoken in the land where that story originates. A typical book also includes the text in English, but in some cases another language is employed instead. My name is Alina Kralia and I have been drawing since I was 4 years old. As a child, a family friend who was an artist showed me how to draw. There was no art school in my city, so I learnt from books and then from YouTube. After school, I graduated from the Faculty of Design, but my heart belongs to drawing. (At university, we devoted quite a lot of time to painting and drawing). I am a Christian, wife and mother of two children. After the birth of my boys, I fell in love with children's illustration with all my heart and now I help to bring children's stories and fairy tales to life for children from different countries.
