Overview

My name is Dottie. I am a small black puppy with little white tips on my paws. I live with my humans: my curly-haired girl, who cuddles with me and plays with me; then there is my human mom, who makes sure I have food and takes me to the groomers; and my human granny, who feeds me human food. I love food so much that my nickname is Ms. Piggy. I love riding on the back of a four-wheeler behind my human mom. They help me get through stormy nights without being a fraidy-cat. I also live with a tuxedo cat named Luna. She bugs me, but then I chase her down the hall. I have an extended family as well. They are bigger than me, but they act like puppies. This Aspen and Avery. Both are Labradors. Then there are my cousins Rocky and Tomba. Rocky is a black Labrador. Tomba has brown fur that grows backward. They act like true brothers. They never leave each other's side. I also have relatives in Clinton, Tootsie and Maverick. Tootsie is white with big brown spots. Maverick is brown with white spots. I love my family, and they love me.

Brittney Downey was inspired to write this story by her little dog and for the many years they spent together in her early years before becoming a college graduate. She was a published writer in her last year of college in her local college annual creative book called Shorelines, which is full of paintings, photos, poetries, and short stories. Brittney was actually a part of Special Olympics in her high school years for bowling and basketball. She loves to have fun with her friends, seeing movies, reading, gaming, and enjoying visiting exhibits in her home city area like the Pompeii exhibit of 2016-2017.
