My Life My Song: An Anthology of Stories, Songs, Lyrics and Poems

Overview

My Life, My Song: An Anthology of Stories, Songs, Lyrics, and Poems. This book is based on the life of Jacquie and her real-life experiences and adventures as a lyricist and writer. She wanted to get her work published, including her lyrics and songs, and hear them performed by singers, lyricists, and poets. She also wanted to see them in a play, movie, or on television. Jacquie transposed her thoughts and feelings, capturing her life and musical experiences. She thought that sharing stories from a tumultuous time would make her poems, lyrics, songs, sonnets, and limericks enticing to others.

Reviews

If it weren't for the words, there would be no music! Wouldn't give advice to a pig running backwards! ""You must live your life and enjoy it, not stand on the sidelines looking in, with hopes and dreams, go ahead, jump, jump in to win!"" ""God gathers in the good ones and leaves the living to those of us who fail,"" and they were right!Turn the page, let the music play, and lean in close to listen. This is a songbook of a soul that refused to be quiet.

Author Information

Jacquie is a fledgling writer and lyricist who loves putting pen to paper, sometimes immersed in her private realm. She transposed thoughts and feelings that captured the essence of her life, believing that sharing her stories from a tumultuous time would make her poems, stories, lyrics, songs, and other prose more enticing to others. In authoring this book of Poems, Songs, Lyrics, sonnets, and a limerick or two, Jacquie offers insight into her romanticism and musings on life, love, people, places, experiences, and situations. She kept her writing private for a long time; no one, not even her closest friends or family, knew about it. When she shared her work with others, they tried to figure out who the characters were, and she enjoyed watching them stretch their weak minds. Jacquie laughed as they racked their brains, trying to remember events or points in time. She watched them speculate about who the person might be, as revealed in poems, stories, or scandalous lyrics or songs. This book is a gift to women rediscovering their voices, to men trying to understand them, to artists looking for inspiration, and to anyone who has ever needed to laugh through pain and dance through doubt. It dares readers to reflect on their own journey, their own lyrics, and their own song. Please enjoy my writings, poems, lyrics, sonnets, and a limerick or two. Jacqueline Germany is the author of My Life, My Song (MLMS), and her best friend, SJ, is the narrator. The telling of Nan's story was more complex than the concept, but SJ did a fantastic job, and she was pleased and proud of the work. It was her first time narrating a book. SJ left the United States when she was five years old after her mom's death and went to live in England with her father. It was a strange and bewildering environment. Even though English was her first language, SJ struggled tremendously with the differences in spelling, pronunciation, diction, elocution, and her manner of speaking. It was the King's Old English. However, she made lemonade out of lemons and quickly found her calling. She made a career as a Linguist, studying language, how it works, and how people use it to communicate. Over the years, SJ mastered eight languages, speaking and understanding them fluently. Her skill and ability to translate different languages landed her jobs as a translator in many fields and organizations, including the United Nations. SJ taught languages to students at various schools in London and the surrounding districts. She has been a linguist for twenty-two years. She hopes to continue until each person can articulate and be comfortable with their communication style. SJ attended the University College of London, the second-largest university in the United Kingdom. SJ is divorced, with no children, and currently lives in London, United Kingdom.
