Author Information

Jeff Zwiers is an educational consultant focusing on helping teachers increase the development of language, literacy, oracy, and student agency in every lesson. He likes hiking and sees lots of rocks along the trail. He often wonders about the stories they would tell if they could talk. Caroline Pedler is an illustrator, artist, and educator who has illustrated over 50 picture books for children and curated and exhibited in numerous shows around the United Kingdom and abroad, most recently in Italy, China, and the United Arab Emirates. She won the professional picture book category award for the CICLA Original Illustration Exhibition in China in 2020 and created artwork for the visual identity for Bologna Children's Book Fair 2023. Author, critic, historian, and 2020 CICLA OIE Shanghai judge Leonard Marcus said, ""Her playful, intricately detailed images combine painting, drawing, cut-paper collage, and digital elements, and highlight so many distinctive textures that as viewers we feel we can almost touch her characters' world as well as see it.""
