The author wrote the book to let young people know there is more to life than the superficial world of TV shows and celebrity, but his depiction on the show made that a bit more challenging back then. He was still determined to use whatever fame status he had to do some good, but he had to move forward from MTV and move forward from his fast-paced drive to build his NYC computer business, and a counselor helped wake him up. He left the business world. His computer-consulting company assets and profits from his first book were transferred to a nonprofit organization for kids, and he decided to go back to school to become a social worker. Many thought he'd had a mental breakdown, but it was the best decision of his life. Dream Camp Foundation was born!
