Overview

"From an award-winning journalist, this ""grippingly suspenseful true-crime tale details the foiling of a wealthy Texan's plot to have his wife murdered"" (Publishers Weekly). To the world, Linda DeSilva's marriage to Robert Edelman was perfect. He was her college boyfriend turned wealthy and successful husband, and the father of her children. But what friends and family didn't know was that the Texas real estate tycoon who set her up with a luxurious life in Dallas was also her abuser. When she asked him for a divorce, the violence against her only escalated, until the shocking moment she learned her husband had hired an assassin to take her life. From acclaimed journalist and author Jim Schutze, ""My Husband's Trying to Kill Me!"" is the riveting true-crime account of how Linda DeSilva worked with the FBI to trap her husband before he could act on his murderous intentions--and how the sting operation nearly got her killed instead. A shocking and sensational story of a wife and mother's escape from the marriage that went from American dream to every woman's worst nightmare. Contains mature themes."

Author Information

Jim Schutze is an award-winning journalist and the author of several books, including By Two and Two: The Scandalous Story of Twin Sisters Accused of a Shocking Crime of Passion; Cauldron of Blood: The Matamoros Cult Killings; and Preacher's Girl: The Life and Crimes of Blanche Taylor Moore. Starting out as a singer/songwriter, Jonathan Sleep's first foray behind the microphone was with a guitar in his hand, kicking around the Atlanta local music scene. After graduating from Georgia State University with a film degree, he went to work developing and creating shows for a TV production company in Atlanta. When the opportunity came to narrate Robert Bevan's LitRPG/fantasy/comedy series Critical Failures, he jumped in with both feet and hasn't looked back since. The ever-growing collection of novels and short stories regularly tops Audible's bestsellers in the Dark Humor and Fantasy categories. While continuing to narrate audiobooks, Jonathan is broadening his VO horizons as he ventures into video games, animation, and commercial projects as well.
