My Heart My Blood

Overview

A Non-spicy Historical Tudor Adventure Romance. MY HEART MY BLOOD. Lands of my Blood series. A Greystoke Legacy Volume. Book one. HISTORY REMEMBERS THE VICTORS. FICTION HONOURS THE HEARTS THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE. What is the Series about? From Royal Court to battlefield honour-and finally, the court of law-his fate hung on a remarkable seven-hour testimony-his own. In 1534, William, 3rd Baron Dacre, and 7th Baron Greystoke, stands accused of treason. The charge: unauthorised cross-border dealing with the Scots. The penalty: death. He chose to defend himself. No counsel. Just his voice and his faith against the crown. BUT....the story of faith and the forging of alliances BEGINS TWO DECADE EARLIER. William learned to love fiercely, defy evil and build his character. Which is where this tale begins. 1513: Gilsland: In the shadow of Flodden's tragic clash, where Scottish heroism met English might. Lady Elizabeth Talbot and William Dacrae, heir to the baronies of Greystoke and Dacrae, along with colourful kith and kin, are entwined in the vibrant, artistically charged courts of dowager Queen Margaret Tudor. As allegiances and the centre of faith shift across the Anglo Scottish borderlands, they balance loyalty, loss and hope with faith, courage and wit. Adventure, mischief and tender moments thread through the harsh realities of war and fragile peace, as legacy is forged in the crucible of personal sacrifice. Meticulously researched and grounded in historical truth, this clean romance reimagines the plausible yet fictional lives of forebears-set against the turbulent backdrop of Tudor England, Ireland and Scotland.

Author Information

Mandy Louise is an author based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia. Her richly imaginative storytelling is shaped by a faith filled, vibrant and eclectic background: she has been or continues to be a wife; mum; and grandma; genealogist and researcher; a retired businesswoman; an artist; early childhood coordinator; photographer; biblical Hebrew scholar and faith-filled follower of Yeshua; musician: a flautist and singer; volunteer literacy tutor; community support carer and worker; facilitator; bird and wildlife rescuer; student of Naturopathy; a multi-award-winning floral designer; website builder; content creator; and most recently; an avid birder. Mandy began weaving stories in childhood and nurtured her love of language through reading novels, the bible and dabbling in poetry. From the age of ten, she devoured 'just about every historical novel she could find, ' and always dreamed of writing her own once retired. Two decades in the making and two years in research, her novel is the fruit of lifelong passion and God-given talent. Born in Yorkshire, England and raised in South Australia, Mandy draws from her English heritage to craft an elegant and witty tale of adventure, romance, and courtly intrigue set in the early 1500s Tudor era-a world she brings to life with rich detail and poetic charm. In addition to fiction, Mandy also writes in the non-fiction realm, authoring poems and prophecy, as well as interactive training materials, continuing to explore the beauty and complexity of the natural and historical worlds.
