Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationLance Orndorff (1961-) was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to a steel industry engineer father and depression baby mother, grew up in Virginia Beach, VA after the passing of his father when he was 6, and among seven brothers and sisters. After dropping out of high school, he served four years in the U.S. Navy. Two weeks after military service, his college career began with him living in a car for a month before his financial aid processed. That rough start to an education never slowed Lance down, as he went on to attend 19 years of higher education, earning his Bachelor's in Science at Averett University, then Master's of Science and doctoral candidacy in Higher Education Leadership and Administration from Old Dominion University. For twenty five years, education and counseling have represented one of three legs of his career. The computer sciences and church leadership round out the other two. Lance is known for his creativity and tenacity, with an uncanny ability to formulate process solutions on the fly. When his undergraduate Dean of Students declared that starting the first national social fraternity would not be possible on a private Baptist affiliated college with just over 200 men (a gender minority at that time), he had the new group sanctioned and operational in three weeks. When the Dean of a College of Education at a regional university said it would take several months during the academic year to reformulate and re-contract an on-campus senior learning program, Lance accomplished the program reconstruction and bidding in the two weeks over the Christmas holiday, making it one of the largest in the nation. And in less than 18 months, as Executive Director, Lance has led the development of one of the largest and fastest growing veteran service organizations of it's type and focus. So where does he find time to serve as a Priest and also marry more than 3,000 couples of various faiths and traditions? It's all in a days work for a man who loves experiencing, learning, and sharing all that the world has to offer. This is a man who believes in miracles, experiences God as a quantum experience, loves and respects the atheist, agnostic and believer equally, and has the greatest hope for his life, nation, and world. Where there is a voice, he listens. Where there is a task, Lance acts. Where there is a need, he responds. Where there are people seeking a vision, he will lead. And where there is compassion, he is among friends. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
