An Autobiography of Edward G. Fleming In my life's journey of trying to live my life for God, I have experienced the soft, mushy, gushy love of sexual attraction, to the hard sacrificial love of forgiveness, and all manners of love in between. It is the true, pure, hard sacrificial love of one person helping another; a love filled with truth, forgiveness, compassion, endurance, patience, mercy, grace, justice, righteousness, charity, tenderness, strength, wisdom, justice, kindness, communication and it is all of this that I have come to respect and worship. At certain times in my life I could not see this love at work, for I was blinded by my own greed and selfishness. My life has been full of ups and downs, twists and turns, which have taught me an important fact. That is to keep the main thing the main thing, which is to love God with everything I received, by loving others, as I would have them love me. That is by loving with truth, forgiveness, compassion, endurance, patience, mercy, grace, charity, tenderness, wisdom, justice, kindness, and everything that causes good to happen. The way I see God, Allah, or Higher Power is He is more of the Spirit of Love (the above properties) than an actual being, like Santa Claus is more of the spirit of giving at Christmas time than an actual being. I know love exists, so I believe God exists. You may ask, is Jesus my God? And I would ask you, am I my kid's Santa Claus? And yes, my kids found gifts under the Christmas tree that said they were from Santa Claus, on Christmas Day. Jesus is my God, but is He yours?
