My Friend Has Dyslexia

Overview

My friend Darius has a disability called dyslexia. But that doesn't matter to us. We make our own comics, help each other with our homework, and volunteer at a nearby animal shelter. I'm glad Marius is my friend!

Reviews

Excellent new series from Picture Window Books: FRIENDS WITH DISABILITIES It has 4 titles, all written by Amanda Doering Tourville, illus. by Kristin Sorra: MY FRIEND HAS AUTISM; MY FRIEND HAS ADHD, MY FRIEND HAS DOWN SYNDROME; MY FRIEND HAS DYSLEXIA. Over the years I have had a number of books on these subjects to sell. Some have been straightforward, non-fiction titles, some are fiction that lightly may touch on these subjects. Tourville's books are fiction, but loaded with facts about these conditions. The main characters talk to their friends with these conditions, frankly let us know where the problems come up, and how to deal with the frustrations of communication. These books are written for 7-9 year-olds, but there were a few facts that were also quite enlightening for me. I will never try to re-arrange and autistic person's things, for assistance. They most likely will be displeased -- at best. These would be great for home, but can be found at your library soon. Happy reading everybody! http: //greatkto8thgradebooks.com/2010/02/18/friends-with-disabilities.aspx?ref=rss-- ""Great K To 8th Grade Books Blog""
