It all started in 1947 when a teenage boy went on a joy flight.More than 60 years later that teenage boy tells of his flying career and how he managed to blend his love of flying with a civil engineering career, a marriage and with family.At the age of 80 that teenage boy hung up his boots but not his love of flying. He often looks to the sky whenever he hears an engine noise.This is his story.

John Chandler was born in Australia in 1933. At the age of 14 John experienced flying for the first time and was hooked! John had a career as a civil engineer and was able to blend his love of flying with it. John's career spanned over 5 decades in some of the most amazing places in Australasia and only gave up flying at the age of 80.
