Overview

A timeless collection of animals for babies to pore over and treasure. Magisson takes us to different natural environments, each one as beautiful as the last, and introduces us to the remarkable animals that live there. Meet a lion basking on sunny plains, a whale diving into deep waters and a fox foraging across the forest floor. Young children will delight in identifying their favourite animals and poring over the detailed places where the creatures live. Helene's timeless artwork and the chunky format make this an enduring board book that is sure to grow with the babies who cherish it.

Author Information

Hlne Magisson is a critically acclaimed French-Australian illustrator of many books for children. Before Hlne turned to book illustration, she was a painting restorer in Paris, where she was also trained in the art of medieval illumination. Hlne's children's books are widely known and loved across the world. Her timeless style lends itself beautifully to classics, such as The Velveteen Rabbit (New Frontier, 2021), and also universal, contemporary stories, such as Before You Were Born (HarperCollins, 2020). Hlne is frequently recognised by the Children's Book Council of Australia. Most recently, she was awarded the CBCA 2020 Notable Picture Book of the Year Award for Little Puggle's Song, written by Vikki Conley.
