The author, Lamoussa TheodoreKafando, was born in 1943 in Zitenga, Burkina Faso, West Africa. He is bothan instructor and a cultural animatorspecialist. Currently, he is the Directorthe National Prix of Ouagadougou.Several times, Lamoussa TheodoreKafando was the winner of the nationalcompetition of storytelling, theater, poetry, and children's drawingcompetition. In 1993, his work entitled LaafiNooma or Health won the 2nd Prize ofthe Intergovernmental Agency ofFrancophone African Literature forChildren.-In 1994, Intergovernmental Agency ofFrancophone African Literature forChildren awarded him 3rd Prize for hisplay My Father's Wife is not MyMother.-In 1995, he received the 1st PlaceAward of The Francophone AfricanLiterature for Children for his shortstory, The Handicapped Girl fromTaab-Gninga.
