"1) Beautifully illustrated in vivid detail, this children's picture book makes me laugh and warms my heart. The mystery of the Tooth Fairy seems to unfold through the eyes of a child, with a little magic and a whole lot of imagination. Your children will love it as one of their bedtime favorites! Elizabeth Corder, Mother, Language Arts Teacher 2) My Dog Is The Tooth Fairy is a clever, curious, well-written children's book sure to please! A pleasure to read, the words roll off the page and delight. The illustrations are creative, whimsical, imaginative and infectious! The whole book delivers genuine joy simply and sincerely. It is a must for your family library. Trish Sachs, Mother, Children's Literature Certificate, BYU 3) A fun and fabulous way to answer your child's questions about the Tooth Fairy! The whimsical rhymes and exquisite illustrations will surely capture your child or grandchild's imagination. As a former preschool teacher and health educator, I highly recommend this book and wish it had been available when my own children were loosing their teeth! Lisa Anderson, mother, former Preschool Teacher 4) A cute children's book with all the sweetness of childhood imagination! My four young, elementary-school-aged children were as amused by the detailed, quality illustrations (especially loving all the little animals & childhood mythological figures!) as they were riveted by the ponderings THAT flowed throughout the story about the tooth fairy. We give this book two thumbs up for illustrations and story! A definite classic to add to your child's at-home library. Molly Blain, mother of 4, Teacher 5) Author Steven Viele and illustrator, Ashley McKeown combine their talents in this delightfully clever story, appropriate and endearing for readers of all ages. First, we learn how difficult the tooth fairy's job must be, even more difficult than such famous characters of lore as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. We then entertain the possibility that the tooth fairy might be a common, household being that resides in every house. As we travel towards the conclusion, as the title suggests, we find out that the family dog may actually also be the tooth fairy! Dr. Viele's amusing turns of phrase, coupled with Ashley's thoughtful drawings work perfectly together. As a retired first-grade teacher I can confidently attest that this book would delight my students, and that their parents would get a smile and laugh from it as well! Barbara Mueller, recently retired first-grade teacher (6) Ashley McKeown's illustrations in My Dog Is The Tooth Fairy are so charming and sweet. She creates a wonderful imagery to go with this creative story. I just love her sense of play in each picture. Such a talent!"" Shannan Wilson, author of The Littlest Peanut."

Author Information

Dr. Viele was a pediatrician for 30 years and the adoring father of two girls. He spent the past three decades writing little poems inspired by the young minds and sweet innocence of both his patients and children. His attention was captured as he watched them progress through childhood and advance from a land of magic thinking and dreams into a world of reality and structure. ""My Dog Is The Tooth Fairy"" is the first of these poems to be illustrated and published as a children's picture book and it provides a glimpse into such a transitional period and lets us recall some of our favorite childhood memories that should make this a real keepsake book. May we all keep dreaming and expanding our imaginations. Ashley McKeown graduated with a degree in Interior Design and spent years painting murals in children's rooms for both private clients and model homes. Transitioning into children's books felt natural and exciting. Ashley's children have been patients of Dr. Viele since the birth of her first child in 2009. It was not until Dr. Viele retired that the partnership began. Ashley engaged her children, her children's friends and classmates into each imaginary detail to truly show the pure nature of their whimsical dreams. My Dog Is the Tooth Fairy is her impressive debut as a children's picture book illustrator. Combined with the rhyming story, Ashley's illustrations should help make this a unique, keepsake book. Kinley and Caden McKeown, the children of the illustrator, Ashley McKeown, have lent their imaginations and their perfect, childlike, whimsical way of viewing the world to this project and those in production. They have also been subjected to serving as models for many of Ashley's illustrations and as test subjects for a variety of children's picture books and bedtime stories. Their lost teeth have allowed their illustrator/mother to see how the tooth fairy works and how inflation has affected the value of lost teeth.
