Overview

This one-of-a-kind picture book points children to Jesus, the true hero of every family, and encourages dads in their role as a spiritual leader in their home.   Young children often see their daddy as a larger-than-life figure who can fix everything from broken toys to scraped knees. But behind every super dad is a supernatural Savior who shapes ordinary men into extraordinary fathers.   This sweet and simple story helps children understand Jesus’s role as the true head of the family and learn to trust Him with their hearts, just like they would trust their own dad.   For fathers, My Daddy’s Hero is a powerful reminder of their most important role—to lead their children to Jesus.

“My Daddy’s Hero helps introduce kids to the truth that their protector has a protector and their hero has a hero. This book makes me rethink moments in my day when I am not representing myself as a hero worth looking up to. But better yet, on days where I really mess up, this book points to a better Father who never fails. It supports my great hope that my kids would know Him as I do. Both parent and child are left in wonder and thought, worship and joy, gratitude and contentment. Jerrad has been a mentor for a long time through his Dad Tired podcast, and he continues in this children’s book that has us smiling and processing truths of God’s love and character.”  —Christopher Hilken, pastor, professor, and cohost of the Dad Tired podcast    “I never realized how difficult it would be to share what Jesus means to me with my toddler, but thanks to My Daddy’s Hero, I can show her my love for Jesus in a simple way. My prayer is that my children will love the Lord more than I. Thank you, Jerrad, for helping us take a step in the right direction.”  —Beneil Dariush, professional mixed martial artist   “This book put a huge smile on my face.” —Justin Whitmel Earley, lawyer and author of Habits of the Household
