Overview

I wrote ""My Dad"" to show that love, tenderness, mundane chores and everyday comfort can, and does, come from dads all the time. My experience as a dad of 3 wonderful children is amazing, challenging and fulfilling. But the experience is nothing like the expectation I had reflected back at me by books and media as I grew up. I watch my friends who are dad's who are much more than just the ""goofball"" dad or ""work all hours"" dad or the ""lazy dad"" tropes which permeated tv shows of my childhood. I wanted to celebrate those dads and provide positive role modelling for the reader. A big thank you to the dads who let us in to their lives to make this book a reality.

Mike Seymour lives in Dunedin (NZ) with Yasmin. He is a proud father of 3 (Artie, Maeve and Cormac) and writing provides him with an outlet for the nonsense rhymes that float around his head!
