Mahesh Pathirathna is a journalist who advocates for books in communities without strong reading cultures. His first picture book won an IBBY Outstanding Book for Children with Disabilities honor. He lives in Sri Lanka. Evi Shelvia was born in Indonesia and has illustrated children’s books in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the United States. She works with pen and watercolors.
