Author Information

Cedric Strickland is a product leader, educator, and storyteller whose career bridges Silicon Valley innovation and social-impact advocacy. A Product Manager on Google's Gmail team, he guides features that serve billions of people while steering complex privacy and regulatory initiatives. Prior to Google, Cedric spent a decade at Microsoft, where he helped launch the first machine-learning-powered Windows release and managed teams of talented professionals across the globe.Away from big-tech corridors, Cedric has a passion to share knowledge, be a mentor, and uplift others. Cedric's passion has taken him into classrooms, as an instructor in Texas State's nationally acclaimed MathWorks STEM outreach program, and as a professor in the University of Washington's CSS graduate program. Most recently, Cedric is the author, editor, and illustrator of the My Black Job series, amplifying diverse career stories and championing equitable access to opportunity.Raised in downtown Atlanta and armed with a Computer Science degree from the University of Notre Dame, Cedric now mentors emerging technologists, consults on AI-driven product strategy, and unwinds through boxing, travel, and personal-wellness pursuits.
