Mutant Saga the Comics

Overview

ASTONISHING FICTION: ""Old School"" comics... for grown folks. Astonishing Fiction was the comic adaptation of the of the novel ""The Mutant Island"". It ended at issue #6. These comics were created faithfully from the novel. Nothing was sanitized or altered in their adaptation. Imagine a John Carter comic where the martians are illustrated exactly the way Edgar Rice Burroughs described them in his original novels. There it is. Then there is the terror of the Cluckulons. Earth faces an invasion from evil alien chickens from space. The Main Story: American emissaries arrive on an American island territory in the Caribbean that vanished five years earlier, but now has just as suddenly reappeared. However, far more than five years have passed on the island, and the last few years have been very bloody. The emissaries must try to open relations with a native mutant population that has just thrown off one hundred and fifty years (or more) of slavery under the humans. The mutants on Bain Island are the product of generations of inhuman and immoral genetic engineering and selective breeding. They are now a breed apart from their mutant kin of their ancestral realm, and in many ways. The task is daunting. The native mutants are young but battle hardened and distrustful of humans. Nor are they a people who believe in letting their defeated enemies off easy for their past crimes. The primary objectives of the American government is the reclaiming of their territory and the freedom of the now enslaved humans. The task of the American emissaries is opening a way for this to be done peacefully. Collects ASTONISHING FICTION #1-6
