Overview

The book is drawn up on the basis of a personal journey and the struggles in identifying why Father God would place me where He did and what my role was as a believer in government. That journey is still ongoing and I cannot say, without a shadow of a doubt, that I have found all the answers to all the challenges all of us in this environment face. However, I can say with confidence that He does have all the answers, His heart is for us, and He is rooting for us. I hope this will serve to build a community and to contribute to a conversation among brethren about what it means for us to build the Kingdom and disciple nations in the context of places of government. The book does not seek to provide answers to the questions and challenges faced by those of us called to work in places of government or who have a heart for those in government. Instead, it is meant to accompany us through a journey of reflection and discovery, together with the Holy Spirit. This book seeks to: Help you through guided reflection on your journey of serving God in places of Government Reflect on who God is, who you are and its implications for your work place; Reflect on God's call, commission and empowering and its practical day to day implications; Take a closer look at Old Testament servants of God in secular/Babylonian governments (Joseph, Daniel & co, Esther and Mordecai) and their journeys; Invite you to reflect on God's calling to those of us placed in government (or with a heart for government) to see it as our mission field and to believe God for the impossible in our work places; Call you to join the conversation and journey together with believers called to Government locally and globally.
