Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder that affects the connective tissue throughout the body, including the heart, heart valves, and the aorta as well as the skeletal and ocular systems. It is life-threatening, and he has needed numerous medications, including concentrated oxygen, as well as numerous surgical procedures to help mend Marfan-related ailments throughout his life. Michael started writing, at age eighteen, with his love for composing R & B and Hip-Hop lyrics. At thirty-one, he took interest in John Keat's Theory of Negative Capability, the mystique and poetry of Rumi and the mastery of Shakespeare using iambic pentameter. There is not a single historic poet who did not influence, Michael in some splinter of manner.He has found a refuge in his own style of poetry ever since. Michael's other interests and hobbies include collecting and trading sports cards, painting, studying history, going out in Nature, observing the stars and animals, and watching National Geographic.
