Overview

muses from the moon is a collection of struggling faith, a holding on in the dark, well, never truly dark because like the moon needing the glow of the sun, we as humanity have been formed in the image of our Heavenly Father, the Creator of the universe who freely sheds His glow upon us. and it is within this very essence of us being in constant need of His light, His light, His light, His light, we can find it always available to us if only we keep looking. A black-authored collection of poetry about trauma, mental health, struggling faith, and perseverance. muses from the moon is an illuminating book of poetry that captures the human spirit and explores it through the lens of the four phases of the moon. Written with teens in mind, the ease and accessibility of the language in this book will help readers young and old to be honest with their feelings and encourage them to meditate on the relationship between what is hard and what is good. W. Scott's free verse poetry is poignant and meditative, weaving pictures with his words that reveal he is a poet who sees into hearts and invites others to do so with him.

"""Every worthwhile mystery has its elemental twin: light calls after dark; faith co-exists with doubt. Writing from the inside out, W. Scott's poems earnestly seek the heart of these relationships, in words that will astonish and befriend readers."" -Aarik Danielsen, arts journalist and Fathom Magazine columnist ""W. Scott's free structure and lyrical style creates a bright, impactful, and accessible collection that I think readers of all ages will enjoy."" -Lisa Cooper, writer and poet"
