Overview

When a body is discovered amongst twisted mangrove roots in the mudflats of Queens Bay, Councillor Maggie Ashburn must act quickly to prevent her partner Mark from copping a charge of murder. Despite fielding threats and troubles on the home front, Maggie finds herself catapulted deep into Sydney's violent criminal underbelly, where she’ll tangle with one-time sparring partner, Detective Keith Corvallis and his detective inspector mate, Louie Gardner, to try and prove that Mark has done no wrong.

Chris Robbins served as an elected representative on the Gold Coast at a time when the state's Criminal Misconduct and Crime & Corruption Commissions were investigating the activities of a number of councillors and councils in South East Queensland.  Upon retiring from public life and reflecting on her eleven years in politics, Chris had fun creating an entirely fictional town with fictional leaders, some of whom behaved well while others didn't.
