Dr. Stephen Mogge has been a Professor of Literacy Education in the Graduate Reading Education Program at Towson University for 18 years. He has taught a course titled “Reading and Writing in the Content Areas, PreK-12” specifically for dance and physical education preservice teachers. He has conducted research on literacies in whitewater adventure sports and dance and physical education preservice teachers exploring the literacies of their disciplines. Dr. Shelly Huggins has been a Professor of Literacy Education and literacy leader across K through 12 classrooms as well as higher education for over 20 years. She has been a reading specialist and academic administrator in Baltimore area schools, has provided private tutoring for students with learning differences and has directed the Literacy Center and Reading Clinic at Towson University.  Dr. Jaye Knutson is an artist/educator who has been advocating for innovation and inclusion of dance in public school curriculums for 30 years.  Ms. Knutson promotes dance education in the arts that is standards-based, literacy rich and developmentally appropriate.  As a certified movement analyst, the Laban Bartenieff language informs and infuses her teaching and scholarship; and provides a rich and reliable context for examining movement literacies of all types for all populations.  Dr. Elin E. Lobel has been a Professor of Exercise Science and Physical Education Teacher Education in the Kinesiology Department at Towson University for 18 years. She has taught motor development, motor learning, dance and creative movement to exercise science students and physical education preservice teachers. Her scholarship has focused primarily on dance education and  dance training.  Dr. Pamela Segal is an Associate Professor in the Department of Secondary & Middle School Education at Towson University. She teaches the course entitled, “Reading and Writing in the Content Areas, for Secondary and Middle School,” specifically for history, science, math, English language arts and Health preservice teachers. Her research focuses on the connections between the academic and athletic literacies that student-athletes use on and off the field.
