Author Information

Young W. Kwon is a distinguished professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. He was also professor and chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Energy Processes of Southern Illinois University Carbondale, and an assistant professor at the University of Missouri–Rolla. Dr. Kwon received his PhD degree from Rice University and a BS degree from Seoul National University. He has authored or coauthored numerous publications, contributed book chapters to Structural, Functional and Smart Materials (CRC Press), among others, and wrote the textbook Finite Element Method Using MATLAB (CRC Press).
