Author Information

A citizen of Guyana, Mr. Insanally has dedicated the greater of his life to his country's diplomatic service. His experience in multilateralism was acquired over years of high level participation in the work of the United Nations, the European Community, the Commonwealth, the Organization of American States, the Caribbean community, the Rio Group, the Union of South American Countries and a number of other international bodies. He has been honoured by the Governments of Guyana, Brazil, Japan and Venezuela for his achievements. From 1994 - 2001 he was Chancellor of the University of Guyana, and from 2001 - 2008, Minister of Foreign Affairs and a Member of Parliament. He is currently a Member of the Council of former Presidents of the UN General Assembly.
