Overview

Muhammad Yunus, the Nobel Prize winner and Bangladeshi banker is a pioneer in micro finance credit concept which resulted in the foundation of Grameen Bank. Yunus and Grameen Bank jointly awarded with Nobel Prize for their achievements in providing micro finance for the poorest of poor who are not potential for traditional bank loans. He retired from teaching profession for commencing the micro credit system for the poor entrepreneurs which set such a successful model for the other countries too to follow. Though been out of the Grameen Bank, he is active in social service with the Yunus Social Business - Global Initiatives (YSB) established to empower the social business all over the world.
