Though a housewife, she has up till now thirty-five books to her credit: fourteen novels, two novelette collections, seventeen short story collections and two collections of poems which speaks of her versatility in modern Odia literature. Apart from focusing critically on human characteristics, she can narrate poignantly the psychology of women. Among a number of awards she has received, some important ones are Kalinga Book Fair Award (2016) for her novel 'Baghara Panjha', Sudhanya Upanyasa Sammana (2018) and state level Sweta Sanketa Galpa Sammana (2018). 'Mu Bi Karna' is her fifteenth novel which illustrates lively the life of a person of the contemporary society who has some similarity with the life of the legendary 'Karna' of ancient Indian epic, 'Mahabharata', the longest epic poem of the world.
