Overview

Movement and Dance in Orff Schulwerk is devoted to an aspect of the Schulwerk that has been integrated from the beginning but has to date received little written documentation. Part 1 includes historical and theoretical background, Part 2 describes various content areas in which movement and dance are approached in the Schulwerk while Part 3 illustrates movement and dance with many different target groups. Fifty-six authors from many countries have collaborated on articles that broaden our knowledge about how movement and dance can be integrated with music and speech. In this 100th year anniversary of the opening of the Gü ntherschule, this important work illuminates this vital aspect of Orff, Keetman and Gü nther’ s legacy.
