Overview

I was healed of pneumonia and typhoid fever at the age of seven. The illnesses overlapped and the doctors could not do anything for me in the year 1937.My mother prayed me through with the assistance of my grandmother and the local church. I heard the story many times growing up. I don't personally remember much about that period of sickness but I know my mother prayed through many troublesome times. In later years as a child, I learned to pray and I asked my mother for prayer in times of trouble.I believed in prayer from a child because my mother prayed for me at the age of seven when I had leg cramps. In minutes I went to sleep. As I grew older and attended my Sunday School and church, I heard others being prayed for and saw that most of them recovered from their troubles. Then I read the Bible and other prayer teaching books and knew that many people believed in prayer to the God of heaven, the God of the Bible.The church of God, the God of the Bible, is instructed to pray for all things. In Christian literature and most secular literature, authors have their characters pray when they are in trouble. Some characters in either genre of books often say at such times that they don't know how to pray. I will tell you some examples of the effectiveness of prayer in my life.This book may help many people get started praying with assurance of an answer from the God of creation. Duane Stradley
