That's right - it's a book about money management but, thanks to the author's refreshing writing style, it's also an entertaining read! The author covers the usual topics such as how to budget, ways to earn a side income, how much to borrow, and how to buy a house. Then she goes a step further. In the closing chapter, the author lays out her plan to create a life she loves. Paying off the mortgage is just one step towards finding freedom. The idea of living a life you love and creating freedom (whether that's freedom from your 9-to-5, your mortgage, or other debt) is something I identify with. And I expect I'm not alone! I highly recommend Mortgage Free to both home-owners AND people who want to own a home. Especially if you desire more freedom in life. S Miller I want a fast-track mortgage that I can actually integrate into my life, and this book allows for that reality. Really informative and funny read- a great combo in a finance book. L Martin Brilliant, concise and invaluable read. I thoroughly recommend this book for anyone serious about becoming mortgage free. J Bell I sat down and read this book pretty much in one sitting after I bought it! I had no idea how much there was to know about houses and mortgages and property-buying until I started it. My husband and I are just starting to look at buying our first home, and I'm SO glad I read this book first. Now I'll sound like I know what I'm doing when we start talking to real estate agents and mortgage brokers! This is a comprehensive, well-researched book that is filled with practical tips for becoming mortgage free in 10 years. The author acknowledges that paying off a mortgage in 10 years is not a simple task, but she provides numerous tips and inspiration that the reader can re-visit again and again. But this book offers more. At its core, the book offers the reader a new mindset. Going from mortgage free and beyond to financial freedom. It is a compelling vision backed by the steps to make it happen. B Jones I would never have guessed reading about financial matters could be so fun to read. I had to sell my first home in a short sale due to over financing for improvements bringing the mortgage above its value after the housing bubble popped. I wish I had read this before all that. But live and learn and Heidi Farrelly makes it fun and exciting to take on the challenge of living mortgage free. I'm a fan! LDL While we already own a home and find ourselves relatively financially savvy (and already debt free, other than our mortgage), there are STILL gems in this book that can shorten the life of our mortgage. I plan to make those changes right away. I also loved the humor throughout, great for a hard subject. I think everyone should read this book, whether you already have a house, plan to get one, or just want to work toward being debt free. M Pusey Heidi Farrelly has found a way to take a very dry and detailed subject of financing your home, and adding ideas and options to find the right house and right lender, as well as how to pay off the loan fast. She also finds a way to make you laugh, starting with her sub-title and throughout the book, I found myself chuckling out loud more than once while reading. The book was well written, easy to read, and very helpful to me. I am in the retirement-self employed category. She even included ideas for me to use. J Henderson The author has gone great lengths to adapt her advise to the current climate rather than repeating archaic advise of sooth-sayers and financial advisors to cut expenses. The ideas presented in here are so practical anyone could easily relate to the same. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book to anyone under a heavy debt load of mortgage that eats away the largest chunk of income! Great Job!!
