Morning's at Seven, Ordinary Times in an Extraordinary Place

Overview

""In the Summer of 1999, I was waiting to meet a friend at Joseph-Beth Booksellers when my eyes inadvertently fell on a small book that was on the table of the best sellers, We Could Almost Eat Outside, by Philippe Delerm, a Frenchman. I picked it up because that phrase is often used in our house. The line beneath the title on the cover, An Appreciation of Life's Small Pleasures charmed me enormously, and I sat right down on a bench there and read the eighty-three pages in its entirety. I bought all the copies that they had, planning to give them to our children and our friends. Going home down the Old Frankfort Pike, I began to think of the small everyday things that are so special and wonderful for those of us fortunate enough to live in Woodford County, Kentucky. I decided it would be rewarding to record the memories of some of our own ""small pleasures"" and treasures before they are forgotten. I also wanted to include just a few unique comments made by four small local children because of an innocence about them that brings joy to even the most dreary day. These stories are centered around the years between 1950 and 1999. My greatest hope is that they will stir up even more happy memories."" -Jonelle Fisher Midway, Kentucky ""Jo Fisher is remarkable. Morning's at Seven is filled with stories I treasure. Lives so well lived. Her soul is incomparable and the insights put forth in this collection of memories are ones which will lift up the spirit of all lucky enough to find this book in their hands."" Mary Ann McCauley, Lifelong friend, neighbor, and partner in crime. ""I am in AWE of Jo Fisher! Midway sounds like a fairytale. I had no idea what I was missing only thirteen miles away. This beautiful author's dear husband, Dr. Jack Fisher, took care of my babies and my son throughout his life. Jo sees and feels things I'm sure most others don't. What a joy to read her interpretations. Just wait!"" Lynne Chandler Brown, Psychotherapist, Author of Rational Awareness Therapy Handbook.
