Reviews

An imperative read for anyone who cares for creativity. --D. Murali, The Hindu Business Line An interesting read. Those who are not familiar with moral rights or copyright law may want to read it as a whole, as a collection of stimulating issues, not just regarding moral rights, but also regarding economic rights. Scholars in the field who are already well-read on the doctrine of moral rights and its history can still benefit by focusing on Sundara Rajan's overview of moral rights regimes that are not as well known in the Western hemisphere, in particular the previously under-explored countries of Russia and India. --Cyrill P. Rigamonti, The IP Law Book Review
Mira Sundara Rajan's book is an essential work in this increasingly important area. With her great depth and clear writing, this will be everyone's go-to resource.
--Bill Patry,
Senior Copyright Counsel
Google Inc.
Of all the challenges which the old copyright order poses for the new technologies, there is none so pervasive, so amorphous and so potentially subversive as the cluster of moral rights: by definition they defy economic prescription and may be exercised in the name of human dignity by whoever may wield them under cover of authorship. This highly topical work picks out the many issues moral rights raise and illuminates them within their social as well as their technical context.
--Professor Jeremy Phillips,
Editor, Journal of Intellectual Property Law & Practice

As much a cultural history as a book about copyright and the related moral rights, this book offers a fascinating angle on copyright, with surprising relevance for the modern publishing industry. Mira T. Sundara Rajan, Learned Publishing
