Overview

English summary: The focus of this work is a residential keep built in the 13th century and expanded in later building phases. A parlor with a plank-beam ceiling was added in the second half of the fifteenth century, which was decorated with late-gothic style wall paintings. These wall paintings have been a source of particular interest because they include rather rarely depicted scenery. The Bolzen-born patron Walther Amonn acquired the dilapidated building in 1959 and worked to restore it professionally and to furnish it carefully. In 2014, the South Tyrolean Castle Institute took over management of the keep at the request of the Walther-Amonn-Foundation.
